DEFINITION OF COREL DRAW

Corel draw is window applications which specialize on computer graphics

 

HOW TO START COREL DRAW

Boot the computer on

Click on the start button

Move the mouse to program

Then click on Corel draw.

 

USES OF COREL DRAW

  1. It is used for industrial design e.g. spare parts
  2. It is used to design seasonal cards. E.g party cards wedding cards, birth day cards etc.
  3. It is used for commercial art e.g news papers
  4. It is used to design logos, letter head, complimentary cards, invoice/receipt, posters, handbills, certificate, calendars & magazine.

 

USERS OF COREL DRAW

  1. It is used by graphic artists
  2. It is used by designers
  3. It is used by printers
  4. It is used by publisher’s e.t.c.

 

FEATURES OF COREL DRAW

These are the bars and buttons that makes up the Corel draw environment

 

THE TITLE BAR: This is the first line of Corel draw screen; it displays the name of the program and the current file.

 

THE MENU BAR: This is the second line of the Corel Draw skin it contains all the available titles for the Corel program.

PROPERTIES BAR: it displays some of the tools we used to work on Corel draw

 

THE STANDARD/FORMATTING BAR: it displays all the shortcut tools of the menu

 

HORIZONTAL/VERTICAL SCROLL BAR: it is used to scroll the current viewing windows, up, down, left or right of the page

 

DRAWING WINDOWS: This is the large white portion of the screen; it is called the window, but the rectangle on the center represent the printable page and only the part of drawing that fall within this rectangle will be printed

 

TOOL BOX: It gives quick access to the most common operation in coral draw; and it contains the following tools

 

  1. PICK TOOL: It is used to transforms or drop an object selected

 

  1. SHAPE TOOL: is a tool that is used to shape or convert an object to curve.

 

  1. ZOOM TOOLS: It also used to zoom the environment of your page or work.

 

  1. FREE HAND TOOL (F5) It also contains other tools like Bezier tool artistic media tools, and used in drawing of lines and objects.

 

  1. SMART DRAWING TOOL: It is used to draw a an object or shape to a page.

 

  1. RECTANGLE TOOL: It is used in drawing rectangle and square

 

  1. ECLIPSE TOOL: It is used for drawing eclipse or oval.

 

  1. FILL TOOL: It is used to fill a color in an object and a text. It contains fill color, fountain fill dialog, pattern fill dialog, post script fill, texture fill dialog, no fill etc

 

  1. INTERACTIVE MESH FILL TOOL: It is used to mesh an object or a text and also used to apply more colours in objects.

 

  1. THE STATUS LINE: This is a bar located at the top or bottom of the screen. It displays information about the current selected objects. Object of selected.

 

  1. GRAPH PAPER TOOL: contain polygon tool, spiral tool

 

  1. BASIC TOOL: Contain arrow shape tool, flow chart shape, star shape, callout shape

 

  1. TEXT TOOLS: It is use to type a text on a page

 

  1. INTERACTIVE BLEND TOOL: Contain of interactive contour tool, interactive distortion tools, interactive drop shadow tool, interactive envelope tools, and interactive transparency tools. E.t.c

 

  1. THE OUTLINE TOOL: It is used in add outline in an object and text, it contain out line pen dialog. Outline color dialog, no outline, hairline, 2 point outline e. t. c.

N/B: any object drawn on Corel draw after drawing click on pick tools to free your mouse pointer.

 

HOW TO APPLY COLOR ON A TEXT OR OBJECTY ON COREL DRAW

  1. Click on the object or the text
  2. Go to your color palettes at the right side of your screen
  3. Click and choose your desired color

 

HOW TO APPLY LINE COLOR ON A TEXT OR OBJECTS

  1. Click on the object or text
  2. Go to your color palettes at the right side of your screen
  3. Right click on your desired color to add line color

 

HOW TO TYPE ON COREL DRAW

  1. Go to your tool box and click on the text tools
  2. Move to where you want to type
  3. Click and type
  4. After typing click on the pick tool to free your mouse pointer

 

 

HOW TO CONVERT AND OBJECT TO CURVE

  1. Click on the object
  2. Click on shape tool on the tools option bar
  3. Click on the place you want to convert to curve
  4. Right click on it
  5. Click on convert to curve
  6. Make sure you double click on two points
  7. If you want to convert to particular point to curve
  8. Then click on the middle of the two point
  9. Right click on it
  10. Click on convert to curve
  11. Use your mouse, click and drag inward or outward
  12. On the place you want to convert to curve

 

HOW TO APPLY NUDES TO AN OBJECT

  1. Convert the object to curve first
  2. Move to the area you want to apply nudes and double click

 

HOW TO REMOVE CURVE

  1. Right click on the curve area by using shape tool
  2. Click on to line

 

HOW TO USE YOUR FREE HAND TOOL

  1. Click on the free hand tools
  2. Move to where you want to draw, click and move
  3. Double click to move again
  4. Then to stop, click once

 

HOW TO DRAW A PERFECT ECLIPSE ON COREL DRAW

  1. Click on eclipse, move to where you want to draw
  2. Click and hold the control key on your keyboard and draw

HOW TO DUPLICATE AND OBJECT ON COREL DRAW

  1. Click on the text, go to your keyboard & plus key (1) to duplicate
  2. Or press (ctrl D).

 

HOW TO GROUP A TEXT OR OBJECT ON COREL DRAW

  1. Highlight the object or text
  2. Go to property bar
  3. Click on group
  4. Press (ctrl G)

 

HOW TO WELD AN OBJECT DRAWN ON COREL DRAW

  1. Place the two objects together and highlight
  2. Go to your property bar
  3. Click on weld

 

HOW TO TRIM AN OBJECT ON COREL DRAW

  1. Place the other object on the area you want to trim
  2. Then Highlight the two objects
  3. Go to properties Bar
  4. Click on trim

 

HOW TO APPLY A LINE WEIGHT

  1. After typing, click on the line
  2. Go to your properties bar
  3. Click on hair line
  4. Click on break artistic apart

 

HOW TO INSERT A SYMBOL TO AN OBJECT ON COREL DRAW

  1. Go to the menu bar
  2. Click on text, click on insert character
  3. The insert character dialog box will appear
  4. Click on font, type in “W”
  5. For you to get wingding
  6. Choose your desired symbols

 

HOW TO MEASURE AN OBJECT ON COREL DRAW

  1. Click on the object
  2. Go to your property bar
  3. Type in the weight and height of the object under objects size press enter

 

HOW TO ORDER AN OBJECT SENDING AN OBJECT OR A TEXT TO BACK OR FRONT

  1. Click on the object or the text
  2. Go to the menu bar
  3. Click on arrange
  4. Click on order
  5. Then choose the one of your choice e.g. to front or to back etc

 

 

 

HOW TO ROTATE AN OBJECT ON COREL DRAW

  1. Click on the object or text twice for the rotation dot to appear
  2. Then drag to any direction of your choice

HOW TO APPLY MULTY-COLORS TO AN OBJECT OR TEXT

  1. Click on the text
  2. Then go to tools bar
  3. Click on fill tools
  4. Click on fountain fill dialog box
  5. Click on Custom
  6. Double click on the
  7. Go to colour and choose
  8. After that click on ok

 

Or Click on texture fill

And choose your desired colour

 

HOW TO DESIGN FRONT / BACK I D CARED

  1. Draw a rectangle box use your ruler to guard the edges
  2. after designing the first page
  3. Go to your page bar and right click
  4. Click on insert page after
  5. Go to the space on the ruler and draw a rectangle box to
  6. Give the back page (page2)

 

HOW TO ZOOM AN OBJECT

  1. Go to your tools bar. Click on zoom tools
  2. Move to the object and highlight the area you want to zoom

 

HOW TO BRING OUT YOUR COLOR PALATTE

  1. Click on your menu bar
  2. Click on window
  3. Click on color palette
  4. Click on uniform color, or your desired color

HOW TO DELETE YOUR LINE RULER

  1. Click on the line
  2. Go to your keyboard
  3. Press delete key

 

HOW TO FIT TEXT TO PATH

1. Click on the text you type

2. Hold your shift key and click on the object

3. Click on text in the menu bar

4. Click on fit text to path

5. Click on distance from path to move the text inside the object.

N/B: then to fit the other under the object

  1. Click on the text hold your shift key and click on the object
  2. Click on text in the menu bar
  3. Click on fit text to path
  4. Click on text placement and choose the direction of your choice
  5. Click on place on other side.
