SCANNING AND PRINTING

GUIDELINES ON HOW TO CHECK WHETHER THE SCANNER IS ON THE SYSTEM YOU WANT TO USE TO CARRY OUT SCANNING (GENERALLY)

 

FIRST

1) Make sure your scanner is installed on the system

2) Click on start menu

3) Click on all programs

4) Find the product or the make of the scanning

5) Go to the particular product of that scanner

SECONDLY

6) Go to my computer and open it

7) Check if the scanner is showing on my computer environment

Note: if the scanner is not showing in my computer environment.that does not mean that the scanner is not installed on the system. May be the scanner is not powered or not connected to the c. p. u, so you can

Then connect it

 

HOW TO START THE SCANNING PROCESS

1) Open the scanning

2) You will see the scanning area where you have to place your picture or document

3) Make sure the picture is place very well

4) Then you close the scanning very well

5) Go back to start menu and click

6) Click on all programs

7) Go to the product or name of the particular scanner

8) On the product name of that particular scanner

Note: in every scanner they have properties, but on the properties —Name of the write up

Used in Naming: those properties always be different but has no similarities.

9) Look for any one that has a name of like:

Photo gallery

Photo smart printer

Photo director

Solution centre

Photo manager etc

10) Use any of the above named properly to start scanning

11) Click on any property

12) A page will appear

13) Click on scan or preview to view your document or picture

14) A small property or page will appear, depending on the type of scanner you are using

15) Click or set where you want your document to scan to

16) Choose the file type and — — page

17) Automatically preview page — — — your document or picture, which — —place on the scanner area

18) On the preview page you will see some file and symbols, which can use to edit your document or picture

19) EXAMPLE

 

a) NEW SCAN or PREVIEW or BACKSPACE SYNBOL

b) ACCEPTS or OK or ENTER

c) RESIZE

d) RESOLUTION

e) ZOOM (SYMBOL)

f) ROTATE (SYMBOL)

g) COLOUR ADJUSTING

h) LIGHT & DARK

i) SHARPEN

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

THERE FUNCTIONS

1) NEW SCAN OR PREVIEW OR BACKSPACE SYMBOL: They are use to preview back your document or picture if it not place well — —made a mistake when putting it in the scanner

 

2) ACCEPT OR ENTER: are use to scan your document or picture after arranging and when you are ready to scan your document.

 

3) RESIZE: It is used to resize your picture or document, to any size you want.

 

4) RESOLUTION: are very important when scanning, you choose the resolution

 

5) ZOOM SYMBOL: this is to zoom in or zoom out your document

 

6) ROTATE SYMBOL: this is use for rotating of the document

 

7) CLOURING ADJUSTING: this is used for adjusting or adding more color to your document

On the document you are about to scan, you will see a selected area guiding the document

8) Document can be use to edit or adjust your document. Note the selected area on the scanning in your system or that preview page is important.

9) When you finally click on Enter or Accept button, your document will now scan

10) Automatically, where you choose your scan it will come up if it doesn’t come up go to where you choose your document to scan

Example:

If you choose your scan to as the photo smart premier

  1. It will come up automatically
  2. Open the photo smart premier, if the page did not come up
  3. Click on the document
  4. Click on edit, you will see almost these same files you saw on the preview page, use them and edit your document.
  5. After editing click on save as
  6. Small page will come up
  7. Type the file name,you like
  8. Choose the location by clicking on browse button and — where you want it tosave to
  9. Select the file (jpg) and set the compression
  10. Click on save

HOW TO SCAN THROUGH MICROSOFT W3ORD PACKAGE

 

  1. Insert the picture or document in the scan and close the scan
  2. Then open the micosoft word environment
  3. Go the menu bar
  4. Click on insert
  5. Click on picture
  6. Click on from scanner or camera
  7. A dialog box of the scan will appear
  8. Click on scanner name eg Hp scan jet397 —
  9. Click on custom insert
  10. Then you select the area of the picture or document you want to scan
  11. By clicking and dragging to the side you want
  12. After arranging
  13. Click on resolution
  14. Click on accept
  15. After that you can then save it

HOW TO SCAN THROUGH POWERPOINT PACKAGE

 

  1. Open the PowerPoint environment
  2. Click on insert
  3. Click on picture
  4. Click on from scan or camera
  5. A dialog box of the scan will appear
  6. Click on the scanning name Eg Hp scan jet 397 —
  7. Click on custom insert
  8. Then you select the area of the picture or document you want to scan
  9. By clicking and dragging to the side you want
  10. After arranging
  11. Click on resolution
  12. Click on accept
  13. After that you can then save it

 

HOW TO SCAN THROUGH PUBLISHER PACKAGE

 

  1. insert the picture or document in the scan and c lose the scan
  2. Then open Microsoft publisher environment
  3. Go to menu bar
  4. Click on insert
  5. Click on picture
  6. Click on from scanning or camera
  7. A dialog box of the scan will appear
  8. Click on the scanner name Eg Hp scan jet 397 —
  9. Click on custom insert
  10. Then you select the area of the picture or document you want to scan
  11. By clicking and dragging to side you want
  12. After arranging
  13. Click On Resolution
  14. Click on Accept
  15. After that you can then save it

Note: THE SAME METHODE TO MS EXCEL MS ACCESS

 

HOW TO SCAN THROUGH COREL DRAW PACKAGE

 

  1. Open your Corel draw Environment
  2. Click on file
  3. Click on Acquire
  4. Click on select source or Acquire
  5. Click on Retry
  6. Click and arrange the picture or document
  7. Then you can then save it

 

HOW TO PRINT FROM YOUR COMPUTER

 

NOTE: THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF PRINTER ,WE USE IN PRINTING

Printer that prints black (black and white printer)

Printer that prints black and colored (black and white & colored)

 

HOW TO PRINT

  1. Click on my computer
  2. Then check if the printer is installed on the system you are using
  3. By going to printers and — to known if the printer is installed in that system you are using

NOTE: you can print from another system that the printer is installed, but shared with the help of networking.

  1. Open the page you want to print, eg Microsoft word page etc
  2. Click on print preview to preview the page
  3. When you are through with the preview
  4. Click on print
  5. Then the printer dialog box will appear
  6. choose the printer you want to use from the printer name
  7. Click on property on the printer dialog box
  8. On the printer property you can do some settings before proceeding.
